1. Differentiate between the two types of glaciers.
-Alpine and Continental
Alpine glaciers begin high up in the mountains in bowl-shaped hollows called cirques. As the glacier grows, the ice slowly flows out of the cirque and into a valley. Several cirque glaciers can join together to form a single valley glacier. Continental Glaciers cover all or parts of continents like Greenland and Antarctica. They are continuous ice flows, small ones are called ice fields, large ones are known as ice sheets.
2. Provide three ways glaciers contributions can be indicators of global warming (besides visual shrinking).
-increase in sea level through melting ice
-change in ocean ecosystems and ocean currents because of the increase in fresh water in the ocean
-decrease of salt in ocean can change the Gulf Stream changing the weather on land
-decrease of fresh water available for plants and animals on land
3. List Erosional and Depositional features formed from glaciation.
4. Explain with a diagram how crevasses are formed:

A crevasse is a deep crack that forms in a glacier. Crevasses form as a result of the movement and resulting stress associated with the movement of the ice.
5. Define Firn or Névé:
A Névé is a young, granular type of snow which has been partially melted, refrozen and compacted, yet precedes the form of ice. It is associated with glacier formation.
a type of snow that has been left over from past seasons and has been recrystallized into a substance denser than névé.
