Today we finished up the constitutional debates, specifically talking about the Charlottetown Accord. We finished up our timelines and reviewed your exit ticket from last day on the pro's and con's of Meech Lake Accord. We watched two news casts from the time, one about Meech and one about Charlottetown. As review we read pp. 91-93 in our text book to aid our understanding of the Charlottetown Accord, the Constitution itself and the "Not withstanding clause". Finally we discussed how to do a political cartoon analysis and practiced a bit using the questions below on page 91 plus students found cartoon on Kitchen, Meech or Charlottetown Accords that we will finish formally analyzing next week.
